Intro Blog

   

My name is Sarah Samuels, I am 15 years old and attend Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I am a first-generation immigrant with Parents from Jamaica. I have 2 siblings and 1 dog, whom I love very much. I was born September 28, 2006 and am a libra. I enjoy reading, talking with friends, cycling, shopping, and trying new foods. But more than anything I love meeting and talking new people. I feel like it allows me to immerse myself into the thoughts and feelings of the people around me. My favorite color is black because it is a staple in everything. My favorite food is French fries (contrary to popular belief). I have dreams to be a doctor, more specifically an orthopedic surgeon. I love the idea of being able to help people through surgery and scientific knowledge. My favorite subject is math and science. Math because I enjoy plugging in formulas. Though I also enjoy science I am nowhere near good at it. I hope to one day be able to major in biology to achieve my dreams and reap the rewards of my hard work. From the age 2 to 13 I attended a private religious school. I would see the same people every single day of my life for years, and although I do love those people from the bottom of my heart, I felt slightly sheltered at the same church school. Coming to Fort Lauderdale was a major shift for sure but I don’t regret it. It allowed me to meet people from all walks of life and interact with people from different cultures and religion. Even though it’s only been a few weeks I already feel impacted by this new environment. I am so grateful for the opportunities being granted to me from this school.

  Today, Chris and I went to work on filming our commercial for Nike shoes. First, we went out to the softball field behind building 17 to film some shots. These shots consisted of him (he was wearing the Nike shoes) performing different drills and routines with the feet, such as jogging in place, side hopping, and foot and leg stretches. I used my camera to film these shots, focusing on his feet in order to emphasize the shoes. The shots of Chris doing these exercises are going to be in a compilation of shots near the end of the commercial. When we finished these shots, we walked over to towards the track and football field. As we walked, I recorded audio of my footsteps in the grass to use in the video. Filming AGAIN!

 We're at it again!. today we filmed once more. except unlike last time we actually went to Mac's house. Mac told me and the actors that she has two bedrooms we could use to film the different scenes and certain shots. Once we reached Mac's house we went straight to her guest bedroom and began filming backwards. rather than filming the scenes chronologically like how they were listed in the story board and script. We worked backwards filming the scenes that had high priority. Dream wasn't able to stay long unlike me and Paulanka because her mom had a limited schedule and had to pick her up at 5. school had let out around 3 which barely gave us 2 hours to film. we had to make the most of our time especially since the deadline was fast approaching. we began filming the scene where dream walks into her house and goes to her bedroom.
